FAQs

How do you change a battery in a kid's toy?

Please watch the video below that will show you how to change the battery in a kid's ride-on toy.

Can you put a 12V battery in a 6V toy car?

No, you cannot put a 12v battery into a 6v toy car. This is because the toy is not designed for it. The power would likely destroy both the motor and the motherboard.

How long do ride on batteries last?

This will vary from toy to toy and also depending on how many motors the toy has and the weight of the child.

The ride-on toys we sell are designed to be operated between 30minutes and 1 hour on a single charge.

What charger do I need for a 12V 7ah battery?

When selecting a charger for a lead-acid battery, err on the side of caution and choose one that is less than 20% of the battery's capacity rating (at a 20hr. rate). To charge a 12 volt / 7.5Ah battery, for example, use a charger with a maximum charge output of 1.5 Amps (7.5 x 0.20 = 1.5).

How do you charge a battery-powered ride on?

To charge the battery, connect the charger connector and battery connector. Push firmly to ensure that the two connections are fully joined. Connect the charger to a regular 230-volt wall outlet (If power flow is controlled by a switch, make sure it's on.)

What happens if I use a 12v adapter on a 6v device?

If the device has its own internal switching regulator, the voltage should not be an issue, but if the 12V power supply has a lower maximum power (12V * 0.35A = 4.2W, and 6V * 1A = 6W), it may extract too much current and cause damage to the power supply.

How do you tell if your battery is 12v or 6v?

Count the number of battery vents, checking them one by one. The top of the battery usually has small circular plastic caps over the battery vents. 2.1 volts multiplied by the amount is equal to roughly your battery voltage.

What does 7Ah mean?

The capacity of a battery is expressed in amp-hours. The amperage that a battery can provide for one hour is referred to as its amp-hour capacity. In your case, the number is 7Ah. In theory, this implies that it may deliver 7 amps for one hour or 1 amp for seven hours.

Can you overcharge a ride-on toy battery?

Yes, you can overcharge ride-on toy batteries. You are advised to follow the charging instructions that your toy came with. If you are still unsure, then it is recommended to contact the retailer you purchased the toy from for confirmation.
